How to make your cars last longer

It is a new day and time. The economy is now considerably different.  With it, most Americans don’t have as much money to spend as before.  In terms of the car industry you can see it.  With automakers constantly losing money, you know people aren’t buying big items as much anymore.

With that as a thought, a lot of Americans will be forced into having to keep their car a much longer times.  Keeping a car longer will require maintenance. The better you are able to keep maintenance on your car will dictate how much longer it will last.  So I would like to offer a couple of tips from my experience owning a San Diego auto repair company.

One of those things that can be so easily passed over is making sure your car runs clean. Why is this important?  Because if you don’t keep it running clean you could fail a smog test.  If you fail a smog test you could be in for some expensive repairs.  I have seen this time and time again from doing San Diego smog check.

All you will have to maintain is being sure that the oil is changed and oil filter changed regularly.  Also make sure you keep it tuned up with regular tune ups.

Second issue not handled all the time is taking care of your brakes. You don’t really watch for it as much as you should. But everybody is positive that it is critical for safety. But if you are not diligent in caring for them, this will be an expensive repair.  I should know having to charge my clients to replace their brakes at my San Diego brake shop.

Be sure that when you are braking that you do not be too rough on them. Anticipate your stops and brake slowly. Also be sure there is enough bake fluids. This can add up to a lot of money saved in repairs.

Do these few tips and you can be in for a lot of money saved in repairs. When you must keep the cars you own much longer, you will be happy that you did.
