One of the things people don’t realize is how important maintaining your vehicle is.We overlook how important these cars are that we use to drive us wherever we want.We seem not to understand that our safety is always at risk whenever we go driving. Plus they seem unaware to the fact your car is also in danger whenever there is driving done.So the following are two very important auto repair jobs for your car.

First off it is important for the overall health of your car to always do tuneups.  What I mean is to have a regular tune up schedule for your car.As talked about already, your car is really one of your big investments in life.If you don’t take care of it you are opening it up to the risk of severe damage.  I have seen many clients ruin their vehicle and take it into my auto repair San Diego shop after the fact.I notice that if there was just some routine maintenance performed, a lot of the problems could have been avoided.

Another point to take in is the fact when you do regular tuneups you will also make your car run cleaner.  With so much emphasis falling on clean air and emmissions it is important.  Because if you don’t take care of your car it can run the risk of faiing a smog check.  I have seen older cars that when taken care of pass with flying colors in my smog test San Diego shop by doing regular tune ups.I have also witnessed the opposite way as well.  Cars that weren’t taken care of fail miserably.

Finally probably the most important part of your car is your brakes.  But people neglect it all the time.By not doing a good job of caring for your brakes you are taking a chance of more expensive repairs.  In my San Diego brake service I see cars have expensive brake repair jobs because they didn’t do simple maintenance. By just monitoring their brakes.Or if regular maintenance and checks were done on it, that could have save them money.

It is a new day and time. The economy is now considerably different.  With it, most Americans don’t have as much money to spend as before.  In terms of the car industry you can see it.  With automakers constantly losing money, you know people aren’t buying big items as much anymore.

With that as a thought, a lot of Americans will be forced into having to keep their car a much longer times.  Keeping a car longer will require maintenance. The better you are able to keep maintenance on your car will dictate how much longer it will last.  So I would like to offer a couple of tips from my experience owning a San Diego auto repair company.

One of those things that can be so easily passed over is making sure your car runs clean. Why is this important?  Because if you don’t keep it running clean you could fail a smog test.  If you fail a smog test you could be in for some expensive repairs.  I have seen this time and time again from doing San Diego smog check.

All you will have to maintain is being sure that the oil is changed and oil filter changed regularly.  Also make sure you keep it tuned up with regular tune ups.

Second issue not handled all the time is taking care of your brakes. You don’t really watch for it as much as you should. But everybody is positive that it is critical for safety. But if you are not diligent in caring for them, this will be an expensive repair.  I should know having to charge my clients to replace their brakes at my San Diego brake shop.

Be sure that when you are braking that you do not be too rough on them. Anticipate your stops and brake slowly. Also be sure there is enough bake fluids. This can add up to a lot of money saved in repairs.

Do these few tips and you can be in for a lot of money saved in repairs. When you must keep the cars you own much longer, you will be happy that you did.

Well the time of irrational exuberance is now long gone. For quite a few Americans those types of luxuries like new cars are now gone. Now when a family is in need of a new car they are forced to look into buying a used car.  This is evident in all of the financial problems the big 3 carmakers are having. There sales have plummetted.

But most families will still need some sort of transportation.  But when money is tight families have to choose the cheaper alternative. That alternative choice is a used car.

As a San Diego auto repair shop owner I am asked to inspect some of these used cars.Because when you have decided to buy that used car, you do not want to purchase a lemon. So by making sure there is proper inspectino performed, you can avoid most expensive repairs.

So when you are looking over these cars remember these couple of items to inspect.First you will want to inspect the brakes.  We do San Diego brake in our shop.So I have seen firsthand that needing your brakes repaired is an expensive option. If you buy an auto that the owners didn’t take care of the brakes, that could lead to very expensive repairs.Last thing you want to happen is the need to get the entire braking system replaced.  So make sure the brakes are good.

Second, you want to ensure that the car is running clean.Another way to say it, can it pass the smog test.  In my business I do San Diego smog check. The last thing you are going to want is the purchase of a used car that needs some expensive repairs.Especially if the repairs are going to involve any emmission problems.

If you purchase a car that can’t pass a smog test that isn’t good.It is a sign of a previous owner not taking care of it.What most likely occured is they didn’t do any maintenance on it.These could be the start of a lot more problems in the future.

If you just check out these few items you can save money. By not doing proper checking you can fall into some huge repair bills. When you need to save money, I am pretty sure you don’t want that.

The economy we are faced with we need all the ways possible to save money.  It doesn’t take much to see that many Americans are suffering in this economy. But instead of moaning about a lot of things, we can search out other ways to save money.

So I would like to offer some perspective from a San Diego auto repair owner. Now you may be thinking that I would be biased but listen to me first.  After reading you should see that it makes sense and can save you money.

One of methods of saving money is to try and keep our cars for longer periods of time. In the heyday of this decade when the economy seemed to be so good people traded in cars left and right. They would just trade their cars as soon as it was too old.So for the most part people just did not even think about having to maintain their car.

Well in the shape the economy is in, that is not a luxury for most people now.  Most people can’t afford to just go out and get a new car.People now must keep the old ones longer. What that implies is they are going to have to keep up the maintenance of the cars.

One of the key maintenance items is making sure your car can pass a smog test.Once your car reaches a certain age it will be a requirement.  If you don’t pass a smog test, it can turn into expensive repairs.  I know this first hand running my smog test San Diego shop.

There are a few things you might to make certain you are able to pass the test. You can make an effort to keep your car tuned and maintained.  You can make sure to change the oil and oil filter.  You can make sure the muffler is in good working order.

This is what causes you to lose money.  If you fail the smog test you could be in for a lot of money in repairs.  So by making sure you follow these maintenance procedures so you can save money.By putting in the time and effort in maintenance now will cause you to not have to spend on big repairs later.

Don’t forget to also maintain your brakes.  With my experience with our San Diego brake shop this is important as well. By being sure that you don’t have worn down brake pads can save your disc brakes.  Not maintaining it can lead to expensive repairs.Listen to these instructions and you should save money.

One of the things taken for granted in this world is driving a car.It has become almost like a routine and a mindless activity for some people.  You see people talking on the phone, doing makeup, reading, etc. while driving.

But if you really thought about it, your life is on the line everytime you drive a car.  Whether it is someone else’s fault or yours, accidents do happen.

One cause of accidents, although seldom does it happen, is brakes failing.  Your brakes are one of the most important parts of your vehicle.  Unfortunately, out of sight is out of mind.  I have seen this firsthand with my San Diego brakes shop.

Your brakes is most definitely not in sight. But it is the one part of your automobile that you have to regularly maintain.  Whether you do it yourself, or hire a San Diego auto repair shop, you have to maintain it.After all, your’s and your family’s life and safety depends on it.

With that being the case, it will be relatively easy to maintain your brakes.  You can either go to a brake repair shop or you can learn how to do it yourself.

Either way, the two things to look at for brake maintenance is brake fluid level and brake pad condition. If you are vigilant in keeping these two points maintained, your brakes will be safe.

When checking the brake fluid levels all you need to do is locate the fluid reservoir level.  It is usually marked and has a ‘min’ line and a ‘max’ line.Make sure that the fluids are not below the ‘min’ line and you will not have any problems.

Also make sure the brake fluid is clear or yellow in color. If it isn’t, you will have to perform a flushing of the brakes and put in new fluid.

Brake fluids maintenance are the easy part. The difficult part is maintaining your brake pads.  For this, more often than not you will need a brakes repair company like my San Diego brake shop.

Most of the times your brake pads will let you know that they need to be replaced by making that loud screeching sound during braking.

If so, get them checked and if need be, replaced as soon as you can. Worn brake pads make it difficult to control to a stop.

With your safety and any passengers safety on the line, this is a no brainer. Get it checked and if you have to, go and get your brakes fixed.

Taking and following these 2 maintenance tips will help make sure your car is safe for all driving occasions.
