Because they are thought to be expensive most people never really consider the idea of having a decorative bathroom mirror. My response to that is a plain mirror belongs in a plain house. After going through all the trouble of getting your home to look nice decorative mirrors are just the finish the place needs.

You might not have been aware too but these so called plain mirrors are made of a lower quality glass than decorative mirrors which is more fragile and more likely to break. Besides being beautiful and making the place look nice decorative mirrors are stronger than normal mirrors.

A decorative mirror can be put in any place in your house. There are just so many options on the number of things that you can do with a mirror. Most importantly it brightens what would otherwise have been a boring environment. The bigger the better, it is amazing just how much beauty a large full length mirror brings to place. This is one of the many options that I’m sure you will like.

It doesn’t matter where you are considering putting the mirror. They are not only restricted as being for the home . You can put one inside any of the businesses that you run, it will not attract customers to your place but will allow you to keep the ones you have. People love doing business in a pleasant environment and a decorative mirror usually sticks in a person’s mind. It might even be for your office. There is no real monetary reward that you get but its all about creating an atmosphere. Even within your home you can place the mirror anywhere it doesn’t have to be in the living room only. You might have one it could be in the walk ways, corridors, where you sleep or even the bathroom. This is just one of those things that you need to try out.

In this post I will make an attempt to solve a problem that bothers thousands of home owners around the world, that is, the issue of cloudy mirrors.

Let us say you own a full length mirror as part of your closet and it is now old and looks very cloudy then you are not alone. I used to own one myself; I can bet that you neighbour has owned one too. I tried everything I could to clean it until I got rid of it only to discover the best cleaning methods months after I had gotten rid of it.

Now if you are planning to keep the mirror how do you find a way to deal with its problem? How do you go about cleaning it? As a decorative mirrors handcrafted specialist I can share a few tips on how to go about doing this. You can use these suggestions for a variety of mirrors including large, oversized, compact, framed, unframed including tri fold wardrobe mirror.

The most obvious way is to clean them with water. Just warm the water or even to boil and then try to clean it. Keep the water pure i.e. without adding any additives. If you own plexy glass then you can be sure this will work pretty well.

Also try using some vinegar and a newspaper to wipe of the cloudiness. I mean it could be that someone once tried to clean it with something that was oily.

You can try to use some spray cleaners like windex. One thing I must mention here is that spray cleaners are good for some round bathroom mirrors and not for others. So you should not despair if that particular spray does not work on your mirror.

If you are having difficulty with having them clean by using any of my recommendations, then probably there are other reasons why it is cloudy. For one if could be that the silver on the back of the mirror is peeling off. You can get it re-silvered but I would recommend you let go of it and find a new one – unless of course it has some sentimental value attached to it.

Here is a post about how to best use oversized decorative mirrors and any other size around your house. If you have been thinking about doing but were not sure about how to actually do it then you have come to the right place. As you read below you will begin to get some great ideas on how to use mirrors with ease.

There are a number of benefits for using mirrors to decorate your house. For one, they can be used to add some lights into the house as they reflect the outdoors. Also if you are looking for an extra space then you should consider them.

This means if you have a small house you can use mirrors to make it look bigger and more spacious. As a cherry on top – they can be used to add some class and style to your house.

Below is a list of some of the positioning strategies you can implement

  • They can be perfectly placed at a corner of the room, above the fireplace or even on top of a table. If you don’t have enough space at the entrance you should consider putting them against a wall that faces the door.
  • You also have an option to position the mirrors e.g. antique miror at an adjoining wall to widen the space.
  • You can place it at the end of the hallway so you can make the hallway to seem longer.
  • If you want to widen the space around the staircase then consider placing them side by side along the staircase
  • You can use them in the bathroom, bedroom and even in your kitchen depending on where you need more space and more light.
  • Avoid putting your mirror where it will reflect on some clumsy part of the house. Who wants a duplication of a mess anyway?

So whether you choose to use unframed mirror, antique, unframed, floor, wall mirrors or what ever option if they are well positioned they will make your home feel more like a palace.
