In a person’s home, one of the hardest things to clean are the windows. Sometimes it is difficult simply because it is on the 2nd storey of the home.  Or sometimes it is hard because there are so many of them.Either ways, they are definitely very difficult for you to do by yourself.Basically it can be done by a homeowner but be prepared to spend all day just doing it.So here are some important reasons why a window cleaning company can help.

First of all, they have the right tools to carry out the work right.A lot of times, what makes a significantly difficult tasks easy is just having the right tools.  A window cleaning company is no different.  A lot of times clients of my window cleaning San Diego service are amazed at how fast we can do it.This is mainly because they attempted to do it by themselves and saw how long it took.

The next reason why they can help is simply because they have the correct cleaning solutions. It can leave streaks if you use the wrong cleaning solutions. And when you have ever cleaned your windows you notice that leaving streaks behind make it seem like it is still dirty. In our window washing San Diego service that is the main selling point of not having streaks. It is what the customers need so that is basically what we provide them.

Finally utilizing a cleaning service makes a lot of sense because you need to hire out things you aren’t good at.It makes your home look nicer when you clean your windows right. Everything is definitely much brighter. And when everything is brighter it absolutely makes everything else look tidy.  Clients of my Encinitas window cleaning service are amazed how much of a difference it makes with their whole house.

So hopefully you see that these key reasons make it the right thing to do to hire a professional cleaning service.Definitely if you do, your windows will be done right which will make it all worth it.

Initially, window washing seems pretty easy. You can ask any young kid to clean your windows, for pay, and watch them jump at the chance. The problem however, is that they will only do this once before they come to tell you that they don’t ever want to do that again. The problem with window cleaning however is not in the actual work involved, it’s in how you do it, when you do it, and what tools you use.  Take it from my years as a San Diego Window cleaning company, if you want someone to enjoy cleaning your windows, or if you want to do it yourself, keep some of these tips below in mind.

If you wash your windows when the sun is directly on them, you will soon realize that this makes ugly streaks that don’t seem to go away no matter how many times you clean them! It’s very frustrating, but knowing something as simple as when to wash them like when the sun passes and is not on the windows, or when the sun is so hot, can save you from a lot frustration.

Some San Diego window washing tips that take the frustration and hassle out of window cleaning are:

The way you hold the squeegee matters!

Make sure when you hold the squeegee, you have it angled in the direction the water is flowing. If the water is running down to your feet, move the squeegee sideways causing the water being squeegeed to go down to the part you haven’t cleaned yet. If you find yourself on a rooftop for example and you find the down angle above your head, make sure to squeegee forward so you cause the water to flow to the part untouched. Now going against the flow, water can build up and that will cause the water to come out the sides of the squeegee and this causes streaks.

Wiping the blade is important!

Some people will be tempted to squeegee the entire window without even considering to wipe the blade until the end. This doesn’t work very well and can cause a streak to form from the water left on the blade. Every time you go to get that (which is twice in the same spot essentially) you cause another streak.Wiping after each stroke the blade will avoid this problem completelyand get the window cleaned much faster without retracing steps.

Overlap the streaks

At the end of each stroke, the next stroke should be overlapped of the last stroke (about an inch into the dry area) then make your next stroke. If you’re pointing the squeegee so the water buildup falls downward towards the wet part of the window and you’re drying off the blade after each stroke, you will not create
an additional streak that you have to go back over. Don’t be tempted to just squeegee right on the line, this will make splashes right into the dry area and will be very unproductive.

Use a lot of water

If you don’t use plenty of water, you will cause yourself a hard time by making the strokes more dificult rather than smooth strokes with the squeegee. be generous with your water use and always if you can, use sideway strokes on the water that is dripping down towards the wet part of the glass.

So there you have it.  Some easy to apply San Diego window cleaning tips for all you do it your selfers.Follow these simple pieces of advice and you will be happy with how your windows turn out.

When it is time for your windows to be cleaned, a large majority of the times people pick up phonebooks or go online to find a company.

And unfortunately, a person may just choose whoever they see first.Well I am going to offer you some good advice on how to choose a good window washing company.  This is going to be advice coming from my years of experience as a San Diego Window cleaning company.

Now you may be thinking, what’s the big deal when hiring a window washing company.Well to begin, there is a huge amount of companies who just hire anybody to clean windows for them.  They do this without a background check.  Well of course you realize, these same people are going to have access to your house.  With that being the case, wouldn’t you want to make sure the company you choose is a reputable company. It not only could be the difference in a good cleaning job, but it could also mean the difference of items somehow getting lost or stolen from your home.

So what is there to do to find a good company?Well to start, you check to see if the employees are professional, clean, and uniformed.  If they are not, this could be a sign of a company that goes through new employees every week without much screening.

Next thing you want to do is to check to see if the company is bonded and insured.Accidents do happen, and if they do, you want to have as much protection as possible.

Third, do they use professional tools.  This will help you see if a company is professional and will provide quality work.

Fourth, you are going to want to check to see how long their business has been around.Like a lot of things, longevity speaks loudly and shows that you are working with a solid company.

Lastly, you want to get any past references of past customers.Nothing is better validation on how good their work is than a company’s previous customers. This is going to allow you to know how well they have done in their past performances.

There you go.  Some quick tips you can use to find the best window cleaning company around.

Ahh, spring time is here, well okay, I guess living in San Diego it seems like it is always beautiful spring time weather.  What can I say?

Owning a San Diego window cleaning service has it’s benefits.  But don’t think that just because the weather is perfect that it is impossible to have dirty windows.

As a matter of fact, the perfect weather lulls us San Diegans into thinking our windows don’t ever get dirty.  I mean how can they?  Not so.

Let me clear one thing up, though, this article is not solely for Southern Californians.  You can use these window cleaning tips no matter where you find your self on God’s green earth.

So ready?  Let’s begin.

So let’s address the overarching problem when cleaning windows.  And that problem is those ugly streaks.  Let’s say you woke up and felt great.  So great you wanted to take on the world.  So what is it you decide to take on?  Your windows.

But wait just one minute.  Before you even think about taking on such a big job as cleaning your windows, and I’m not saying you can’t, let’s get the procedure right.  And when you do, you will see how much easier it makes this job.

Ready to get started?  Here it is, nice and neat.

First, make sure you have the right equipment.  This isn’t like you are cleaning you wonderful local family room glass table.  No this is glass that has been beaten up by the wind, rain, dust, birds, insects, doesn’t matter what part of the country you are in.

So what will be the tools that will be needed for the job.  Well it certainly won’t be windex and some paper towels.  It won’t be much more complicated than that.  The tools you will need is a squeegee and a spray bottle and then you can use the paper towels.

Use all these tools, and cleaning these windows will be a snap.

So what now?  You are going to need the right ingredient for that spray bottle.  And what is this top secret ingredient?  Well it is 2 parts.  It is 2 gallons of water, and here comes the secret sauce, a teaspoon of dish washing liquid.  That’s it?  That’s all you’ll need.  You get that straight, and beautiful streak free windows are yours.

Oops, I forgot one last ingredient, and you will need plenty of this.  And this final ingredient is elbow grease.

Remember when you woke up all gung ho ready to take on the windows?  Well after the third window or so, that little bit of elbow grease might just not be enough.

Well when you do, don’t forget where you got the advice.  Your wonderful local San Diego window washing company, who won’t mind adding some elbow grease.

Till next time, happy cleaning.
